Welcome Back Scout Families! Make sure you register on Band for all the latest conversations and updates.
We ask every family fills out a Scouting America health form, parts A & B, each year. We keep these on file in a secure location in case of emergencies during pack or den activities. These are also required for any council activities your scout may participate in. You can keep a digital form on file and update it each year, but a physical copy is required for participation. Any activities longer than 72 hours must download part C, to be filled out by a medical physician.
Pack 533 takes youth safety very seriously. We aim to protect and cultivate every child's well being, whether they are a registered scout or not. As a family pack, we aim to treat each other as family, including siblings and relatives. No bullying or violence is tolerated in our pack, these actions will be met with some form of discipline. As part of the Scouting Barriers to Abuse policy, under the Adult Supervision section:
Discipline must be constructive.
Discipline must reflect Scouting’s values.
Corporal punishment is never permitted.
Disciplinary activities involving isolation, humiliation, or ridicule are also prohibited.
As part of its “Scouts First” approach to the protection and safety of youth, Scouting America has established a dedicated 24-hour helpline to receive reports of known or suspected abuse or behavior that might put a youth at risk. Anyone may call this line, not just registered adults.

Be the person we are raising our scouts to be. Friendly, helpful, kind, courteous adults.
We respect each adults' form of parenting. What happens in one home can vary from another's and we will never ridicule what they do amongst themselves. With that in mind, we ask certain words or behaviors be left at home.
No spanking/hitting/neck directing or harsh physical force should be used in front of other scouts.
This might be a reasonable consequence at home, but not in scouting. It can be perceived as true abuse, especially when preformed with anger or repetition.
No excessive swearing.
It might slip out once in a while but where some scouts are familiar with these words, not everyone is.
No consuming alcohol at scouting activities.
This includes sports or festival activities where alcohol may be provided for sale. This is Scouting America national policy.
Please watch your volume level/tone with your child.
Again, what is being perceived may not be what is actually happening. Loud/harsh tones can raise tension and anxiety in kids and adults.
